His work has helped shape medal-winning performances by pairing technical excellence with powerful artistic expression for almost 13 years.

With over 40 years of dressage experience, a refined understanding of equine biomechanics, choreography, and musical structure, Boy carefully analyzes each horse’s rhythm, stride length, extensions, and transitions to create custom scores that elevate strengths and enhance overall harmony. His compositions are not simply music selections - they are strategically crafted soundscapes designed to maximize artistic impression while supporting FEI scoring criteria.

In addition to his influential work in freestyle production, Boy is also the artisan behind L’Hiver. Boy brought innovation and timeless style to traditional dressage headwear, creating the first stylish safety top hat that meets modern protective standards while preserving the classic silhouette cherished by riders around the world. His handcrafted hats have been worn by elite dressage competitors and even members of the Dutch royal family, reflecting a legacy of quality, tradition, and equestrian elegance. His career reflects a deep appreciation for the heritage, presentation, and aesthetic refinement that define the sport of dressage.

Known for his sophisticated, collaborative approach, Boy works closely with riders to draw out their individuality and competitive edge. Whether building a freestyle from the ground up or refining and elevating preexisting choreography and music, he helps riders unlock their creative voice while ensuring precision and cohesion in every detail.

At Show Chic, Boy de Winter offers riders the opportunity to develop both their competitive performance and their artistic identity - guiding you in shaping your creative vision, enhancing your existing material, and delivering a freestyle that is technically strategic, emotionally compelling, and unmistakably your own.
