Tina Konyot
Olympian • International Grand Prix Rider • Dressage Trainer & Horsemanship Expert
Tina Konyot is an American Olympian, FEI World Equestrian Games competitor, and one of the most accomplished and respected dressage riders in the United States. As a fifth-generation horsewoman, Tina has dedicated her life to the pursuit of classical horsemanship, blending generations of equestrian tradition with decades of international competition and elite training. Her philosophy is built upon three guiding principles: Tradition, Talent, and Technique.
Raised in a family deeply rooted in European horse and circus training, Tina's horsemanship was shaped by her father, renowned trainer Alex Konyot, who instilled in her an extraordinary understanding of horses from an early age. She later refined her education throughout Europe, training alongside some of the most influential masters in dressage, including Herbert Rehbein, Jean Bemelmans, Rudolf Zeilinger, Jonny Hilberath, and Nuno Oliveira. Under the guidance of the legendary Dr. Jan Greve, Tina spent years developing young horses and stallions, establishing a foundation in classical training that continues to define her program today.
Tina represented the United States at the 2012 Olympic Games in London aboard the Hanoverian stallion Calecto V, following numerous international victories and top finishes throughout Europe and North America. She has also competed for Team USA at the FEI World Equestrian Games, earning recognition for her consistency, horsemanship, and ability to produce horses capable of performing on the world's biggest stages.
Known for her exceptional feel and technical expertise, Tina specializes in developing horses and riders from the young horse and young rider levels through Grand Prix, with particular expertise in piaffe and passage, flying changes, straightness, collection, and the systematic development of correct movement. She is equally respected for her ability to rehabilitate difficult horses, address behavioral challenges, and build trusting partnerships through patience, understanding, and thoughtful communication.
Beyond training under saddle, Tina is widely recognized for her comprehensive knowledge of equine management, including nutrition, conditioning, fitness, bridle and saddle fitting, and overall horse welfare. Her holistic approach ensures that every horse is developed not only for performance, but also for long-term health, confidence, and happiness.
At Show Chic, Tina Konyot brings riders a lifetime of Olympic experience, classical European education, and championship-level horsemanship. Whether refining Grand Prix movements, developing a young horse, solving training challenges, or strengthening the partnership between horse and rider, Tina provides the knowledge, compassion, and proven system to help every combination reach its highest potential with confidence, harmony, and purpose.
